Departing in October and again in April 2017, this trip offers everything. Trekking, culture, spiritualism and the hospitality of the peoples of the Himalaya. Should you join us in April/May you have to opportunity to experience spring in full bloom taking in the many varieties if Rhodadendron, orchid and hundreds of varieties of bufferfly.
In the back half of 2016 we have two treks leaving on the 6 October and 24 November 2016. This is the peak trekking season becasue of the clarity after the monsoon allowing us to take in the entire Himalayan range. Nights have the chill of advancing winter but the days are warm and perfect for walking.
We will undertake the moderate Sandakphur (3636M) trek.
Walking along the Nepal / Indian border.
This trek offers some of the most spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu as well as the majestic Kanchenjunga (8598M) the world’s third highest peak.
Then travel through Sikkim, which up till 1975 was an independent kingdom. It is now the 22nd and last state of India. Sikkim is lodged between Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet.
You will also have the opportunity to experience classic Tibetan and Nepalie culture.
Justin Bergholcs is a Novocastrian who has lived and worked in Bhutan, India, Tibet and Nepal, since 1996. Dawa Gyalpo Sherpa is Justin’s adopted son. He is leading Blue Dragon Enterprises ventures in India. Dawa has graduated from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute as an instructor and has been awarded a gold medal from the institute.
